The
MFSRC board and conference program committee
has been hard at work planning the 2010 MFSRC
conference.
With the challenging economic times
that our membership is still facing, more
difficult decisions had to be made this year.
After considering all factors, the board
decision was that MFSRC will again have a two
day conference, on September 20th
and
21st 2010, at the Kelly Inn in St.
Cloud.
MFSRC
is committed to having a conference that will
provide enough variety to please collections
workers, child support workers, attorneys,
supervisors, directors, magistrates and
judges. This
year’s conference
there will be changes made from last year due
to comments made by you and the evaluations.
- There
will be an increase in the number of
breakout sessions, from last year. We
are going to have 4 tracks this
year to incorporate more supervisor and
collections sessions.
These sessions will include
fantastic speakers and materials covering
a broad range of topics imperative to
training on the essential duties of the
membership.
As always, there will be sessions
with
CLE
credits, as well as topics geared toward
line staff, collections topics and
supervisor/manager topics.
- Lunch
will not be served in the Pool Area this
year.
We
are going to be expanding into the Civic
Center so we have more room this year for
breaks and sessions.
- Breaks
and Vendors will be placed in the pool
area so we do not have the congestion we
had last year.
- Once
again, we will have the presenter handouts
available on our website prior to the
conference.
Attendees can print off the
materials they want to bring to the
conference rather than handouts being
available at the conference.
- Once
again this year, The Kelly Inn has
extended the conference rate (a
lower rate than their normal room rate) for
both Sunday and Tuesday night for those
that commute from a distance so you can
stay for the complete conference.
We are stressing this as we did
hear from members that you would like a
half day training the last day for those
that have to travel.
We feel that we really need two
full days of training to get the most out
of our conference.
There
will be a commuter package offered as well
for those who do not wish to or cannot
stay overnight.
- Finally,
the voting,
business meeting, and awards
banquet will all occur during lunch and
breaks.
Fees
for the conference will be coming shortly
after we work out a few more details.
We will once again make it an
affordable good training for our members.
The
Boards goal is to have a great training
conference where members can learn a lot and
have the conference be cost effective for the
counties.
